Governor, of Cross river state , Bassey Otu, has decorated nine police officers attached to the Government House with their new ranks.
The officers were promoted from Inspectors to Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP II) during the event at the Governor’s temporary office, after the Inspector-General of Police’s recommendation through the Police Service Commission (POLSCOM).
Governor Otu commended the promotion process, emphasising the police force’s duty to serve the people. He urged the officers to maintain high moral standards and diligently fulfill their responsibilities.
The promoted officers are:

3. Kingsley Usanga
4. Familola Ojo
5. Emega Ero
6. Adi Ayapere
7. Chollon Yohanna
8. Theresa Afolabi
9. Micheal Eni
Commissioner of Police, CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah, noted that the promotion marks a significant transition to greater responsibilities. He expected to see new initiatives and improved performance from the senior officers.
Mr. Michael Eni, one of the promoted officers, expressed gratitude to Governor Otu for overseeing the decoration and pledged to give their best in service to the people.
The event was also attended by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar.
