Benue’s Governor, Hyacinth Alia has expressed total displeasure over the killings in Ukum Local Government Area, adding that his government will continue working tirelessly with a view to ensuring that peace is restored in the area.
The Governor disclosed this reacting to the killing of about Thirty persons in Ayati village of Ukum Local Government area in Benue state, by bandits who stormed the farming community on 8th August.
He says a number of efforts have been put in place as the state government will continue to tighten the security in the Sankara axis and other affected area of the state.
The Governor had set up a Commission of Inquiry in response to the incessant security breaches in Ukum Local Government Area and its environs and in fulfillment of his administration’s constitutional duty of protecting the lives and property of the Benue people.
