A Non Governmental Organization, Regalo Hope Foundation, has trained Three Hundred and Fifty undergraduate students of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi on Skill Acquisition.
The Training which was held at the university campus is to better prepare the students to be well equipped and ready to be gainfully employed.
Nigeria currently has a high unemployment rate.
The National Bureau of Statistics says as at the second quarter of 2023 the combined unemployment rate in the country stands at 15.5 percent.
The is may be as a result of lack of useful entrepreneurship and social skills among Nigerian graduates.
It is against this backdrop that Regalo Hope Foundation is partnering with authorities of the Nasarawa State University to train 350 undergraduate students on skill acquisition.
The training will expose the students to skills such as emotional intelligence, CV writing, public speaking among others.
This is targeted at equipping the students with the requisite knowledge that would make them employable and self reliant.
The students are optimistic that the training will put them ahead of their peers after graduation.
The training will be replicated in Tertiary Institutions across the country and this is expected to reduce the rate of unemployment in Nigeria.
