The Jigawa State Executive Council, presided over by Governor Umar Namadi, has approved the establishment of a 10-member committee to implement the new minimum wage in the state.
The committee will be chaired by the State Head of Service, Muhammad Dagaceri, with the Permanent Private Secretary to the Governor serving as Secretary.
According to the State Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sport, and Culture, Sagir Musa Ahmed, who briefed journalists on the meeting’s outcome, the council also approved the release of ₦882 million to settle examination fees for 39,709 candidates of the 2024 NECO, NABTEB, and NBAIS exams.
He added that A contract for additional works valued at ₦921 million for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Auyo-Kafin Hausa Road was also approved.
