A two day capacity building on schools enrollment drive campaign has opened up in Katsina, to brain storm on new strategies to ensure eligible students are registered for new academic session.
This is part of efforts to remind stakeholders on the need to mobilize parents to enroll their wards in schools in the new academic year.
Katsina state in the last two years has made a strong push to ensure more children are enrolled into formal Education after years of set back recorded in the sector.
These efforts has not only improved the indexes of enrollment retention, transitions and even completion of secondary education.
But has attracted lots of world Bank interventions to the state which has made schools better and improved capacity of teacher anffd education administrators.
This workshop organized by the state ministry of basic and secondary education in collaboration with a world bank assisted project( Agile) is emphasising the need to enroll more school aged pupils at all levels.
Other stakeholders at the meeting share thier experiences and some of the challenges that are still preventing parents to enroll thier wards into school.
The effort of the state government to construct and renovate more schools is justifiable, especially now that more enrollment drive is being expected across the state as a result of the ongoing campaigns.
