The Nigerian stocks market gained for the second day in a row on Tuesday, with market capitalisation rising by N272 billion to close at N55,437 trillion, up from N55,165 trillion on the opening trading day of the week.
Similarly, the benchmark all-share index increased 0.49 percent to conclude at 96,510.16 basis points, 472.85 points higher than Monday’s 96,037.28 points, while market sentiment remained strong, with 49 gainers to 14 losers at the end of the day’s trading.
Total Nigeria, Julius Berger Nigeria, and John Holt were the top three gainers of the day, with prices rising by 10% to close at N619.30k, N143, and N3.08k per share, respectively.
On the other side, University Press fell 9.58 percent to end at N2.17k, followed by Cutix with a 6.25 percent loss and a closing price of N3.00, and Vitafoam with a 5.17 percent loss to conclude at N18.35k.
The day’s trading ended with 443.15 million shares worth N5.6 billion transacted in 8,493 trades.
