The Imo State Police Command has confirmed and condemned the gruesome killing of seven people by gunmen at Okwe in Onuimo local government area of Imo State.
In a brief statement by the command’s public relations officer Henry Okoye described the unfortunate incident as barbaric.
Okoye noted that investigation is ongoing to unravel the miscreants responsible for the dastardly act.
The assailants killed the president general of Umucheke Okwe community while holding a meeting with six other village heads.
According to report, the gunmen arrived and opened fire on the community leaders and later set the place ablaze.
