A stop and search operation is on in parts of Abuja, although some roads are nearly deserted except for a few vehicle and commuters. At a road block at Ushafa in the Bwari Area ouncil, motorists are compelled to submit to search.
Amid the tightened security, commuters are having difficulty commuting as taxis are scarce.

At 8am, several business along the Murital Muhammadu high way remained closed.
