The Zamfara State Government has announced the immediate closure of all schools across the state with effect from Thursday, 1st August.
The government in a press release signed by the permanent secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Barira Ibrahim Bagobiri says the move is a precautionary measure to protect students from potential security threats associated with the planned nationwide protest scheduled for August first this year.
The statement also adds that all ongoing Examination have been suspended, as new dates will be announced in due course.
Dr. Barira further appeal to principals, head teachers, educational secretaries, proprietors of private schools, parents, guardians, and the general public to adhere to the directives.
The Ministry further the public to stay informed through official channels for updates regarding the resumption of school activities and the continuation of the all Examinations.
