The Nigerian Senate says that it will do all in its powers to ease the hardship and sufferings Nigerians are currently experiencing as a result of ongoing economic reforms.
This is as the upper legislative chamber assured that it will throughly scrutinise the expected 2025 appropriation bill to ensure that it reflects the true yearnings of Nigerians .
These talks dominated the various reactions by Senators including the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio as they returned to work from their annual recess to continue with Legislative activities .

Setting the tone for the coming days , The President of the Senate notified his colleagues that it may not be business as usual as there is need for better synergy between all arms of government to ensure it delivers good governance to the people .
While assuring Nigerians that despite the hardship the government has their best interest at heart and some of these efforts are starting to yield positive results .
After reading out several letters from President Tinubu , the Senate observed a minute of silence in honour of their late colleague , Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and suspended Plenary sitting to the next legislative day inline with its tradition.
In another development, the spokesperson of the Senate , Senator Yemi Adaramodu, said the Senate is not oblivious to the current condition of Nigerians as it is already taking steps to ensure that help reaches the grassroots by attending to matters involving, local government autonomy , electoral reforms, and also the anticipated 2025 appropriation bill.
He assured that this fiscal document will be thoroughly scrutinised .
The Lawmaker representing Abia North, Senator Uzor Kali , while addressing journalist has also charged President Tinubu, to take drastic actions in addressing the hardship felt across board .
