Nigerian Army troops of Operation Whirl Punch have rescued 13 hostages in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State following a fierce gunfight with bandits.
This was disclosed by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan on Saturday.
He explained that the kidnappers were overpowered and their camp dislodged, with arms, ammunition, and other items recovered from them.
He further mentioned that the victims, consisting of six men and seven women, have been taken to a military facility for medical evaluation before they will be reunited with their families.
