The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has declared the results of the local government elections held on October 19, 2024.
In an official announcement at the commission’s headquarters in Lokoja, KOSIEC Chairman, Mamman Eri, revealed that the All Progressives Congress emerged victorious in all the 21 local government chairmanship seats contested.
Eri described the election as “free, fair, and credible,” emphasizing that the electoral process adhered to the highest standards of transparency and integrity.

Meanwhile, opposition parties expressed concerns over the fairness of the election, citing issues such as voter apathy and the need for a more competitive environment in future elections.
