A faction of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State says they will pursue all legitimate means to stop the release of allocation to Local Government Areas in the State.
It is the party’s response to fallout of the council election that has
further pitched supporters of the State Governor against the FCT
Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Against all odds, the Rivers State Government had its way.
The local government election was conducted and 23 chairmen sworn in.
Having failed to stop the election, the APC led by Tony Okocha has gone back to court, this time to ensure that these council executives are starved of funds to run the local governments.
But the opposition Party is unhappy with rumors linking the FCT
Minister, Nyesom Wike, to its suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The APC also commended President Bola Tinubu for recognizing the
performance of The FCT Minister in the cabinet reshuffle.
Pending the outcome of the case, reports from the Local Government Areas indicate that allocation due to them have been released.
