Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru has arrived headquarters of the Joint Taskforce Northwest Operation, Fansar Yamma in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara state
The Minister was received by the Commander, joint Taskforce Northwest Operation Fansar Yamma Major General Oluyinka Olalekan, the Deputy Governor of Zamfara state Mani Mumuni among other dignitaries.
He is expected to receive briefing on the recent military operation against bandits and kidnappers in Zamfara and other neighboring states
Mr. Badaru is also scheduled to meet with Zamfara state Governor Dauda Lawal at the Government House in Gusau
The visit of the Defence minister to Zamfara is coming barely fourty eight hours after the Zamfara state Governor Dauda Lawal and his Katsina state counterpart Dikko Radda visited him and the National security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu in Abuja
The move is aimed at bringing the activities of armed bandits and kidnappers in communities and highways.
