The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has released its Air Quality Index list for October 2024.
The list which was released on LASEPA’s verified X page shows that Agege and Surulere were ranked as the cities with the most hazardous and very unhealthy air quality respectively in the State.
LASEPA said while the air quality may not be optimal, it assured Lagos residents that it is working tirelessly to enhance the state’s air quality.
Agege had a score of 103 per cent (hazardous), signalling a suboptimal air quality for residents.
Surulere comes next with 76.1 per cent (very unhealthy), Mushin with 47.3 per cent (unhealthy), and LAMATA Kosefe with 46 per cent (unhealthy).
Lekki topped the list of cities with good air quality at 10.1 per cent, while LASEPA scored itself at 7.6 per cent (good air quality).
According to the agency, The Air Quality Index is a system used to warn the public of hazardous air pollution.
