The Oyo state police command has paraded a total of 43 suspects for alleged robbery, murder and abduction of their victims for ransom.
The suspects were paraded at the Eleyele Police Headquarters in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The suspected criminals being paraded by the police will face several charges and, if found guilty, will be punished for their various crimes.
Some were arrested for allegedly robbing their victims at gunpoint, while others were caught for diverting trucks loaded with valuable items.
For these suspects, their charges will include invading a herders’ camp, dispossessing them of their valuables, and kidnapping their victims.
One 34-year-old suspect allegedly raped a victim after threatening to kill her.
His accomplices also took turns assaulting the victim.
Others were arrested for murder and armed robbery.
Items recovered from the suspects include firearms such as one AK 47 riffle, one locally made pistol, several vehicles and money worth several millions of naira.
