The National Assembly has extended the lifespan of the 2024 Budget to June 2025.
The extension was announced by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, while speaking at the joint sitting of the National Assembly for the 2025 Budget speech by President Bola Tinubu.
He commended the President for his reforms starting with the Tax Reform Bill, the Nigerian Revenue Service Establishment Bill 2024, and Others.
He said the Bills would help in actualising his grand vision for Nigeria of a developed, Economically prosperous, and technologically advanced nation.
He however said the situation is not yet where most Nigerians want.
He also urged Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to ensure they make themselves available for the budget defence sessions to expedite actions on the budget.
He however added that appropriate actions would be taken against those who fail to appear on time or at all.
