Akwa Ibom State Police Command have rescued five children of the same parent that were stolen from their home, Mbiakpan Ikot Idim, Ibiono Ibom local government area.
The commisioner of police, Joseph Eribo disclosed this to journalists in Uyo.
The police swung into action after receiving a distress call from the mother of the children.
The suspect, Promise Boniface, was arrested at Obio Ibiono, and the children were rescued unhurt.
The police boss also revealed that one David Nse Emmanuel was arrested for running a gun factory while his father, Akpan Nse Emmanuel and his brothers, who jointly run the business, fled.
He narrated that the police invaded the factory based on information that the gun-making factory is where firearms of various makes were fabricated and sold to criminals.
CP Eribo also noted that the command recovered a black Toyota Corolla car, registration number ETN 674AA, suspected to have been stolen.
According to Mr. Eribo, operatives of the Command arrested one Kingsley Nelson. Investigations revealed that the suspect had been previously charged to court twice and remanded for similar offenses.
He confessed to starting his car-stealing operations in 2017, collaborating with partners based in Rivers State.
The suspects however have deny the allegations.
