Operatives of the Department of State Services and the Police have allegedly sealed off the Office of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
TVC News learnt that the Operatives and Police officers also set up Security points within the complex frisking workers, members and journalists alike.
The members of the House of Assembly reportedly were urging the Speaker, Mojisola Lasbat-Meranda, to hold plenary while She was in tears and said to be reluctant to hold the session.
Persons gathered at the complex indluding members, journalists, workers and others also had to deal with a bomb hoax before everyting calmed down.
TVC News, Abimbola Agbebiyi, reports that the current situation is fluid with much of the information flying about on the issue in the public space and online still unconfirmed.
According to her, after the initial confusion subsided the Speaker held consultation with members of the House for about two hours.
The lawmakers came out of the meeting and can be clearly heard shouting that they were going ahead with the plenary during which the Speaker, Mojisola Lasbat-Meranda, was in tears.
While She allegdly had a hard time coming onto the floor to commence plenary.
It took a few moments of struggle for the Staff to be able to place the Mace at its rightful place to commence plenary.
Lawmakers who were visibly angry demanded ecxplanation from the DSS on why the complex was shutdown and they were initially prevented from starting plenary.
