Ukrainian officials reported Wednesday that Russian soldiers launched nocturnal attacks in Kyiv with ballistic missiles and more than 120 drones, killing at least one person.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed on Telegram that three other persons were hurt as a result of the attacks.
Kyiv emergency services reported fires and other damage to buildings in four areas of the city.
Ukraine’s military said missiles also targeted the city of Kyiv Rih, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
According to Serhiy Lysak, the regional governor, Russian attacks caused damage to three apartment buildings, a hotel, an administration facility, and a school.
According to the Ukrainian air force, Russian forces launched 123 drones, and Ukrainian air defenses shot down 71 of them and six missiles.
The areas of Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, and Zhytomyr were all the sites of drone intercepts.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said Wednesday it shot down three Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod region.
