Family members, residents, and members of the All Progressives Congress gathered at the Ikire Muslim Cemetery to witness the burial of the Chairman of Irewole Local Government, Remi Abass.
He was laid to rest shortly after 11 a.m. today.
The Janazah prayer for the deceased was led by the Chief Imam of Ikireland.
The Chairman of Association of Local Government Chairmen, ALGON, Abiodun Idowu led other Chairmen and Councillors to the cemetery while the former Commission for Local Government and Chieftaincy matter, Adebayo Adeleke led other former political appointees.
They are calling on Government to arrest and prosecute those that killed Remi Abass.
Remi Abass was killed by suspected political thugs in front of his local government office on Monday while attempting to resume duty in compliance with the Court of Appeal judgment that reinstated him and his councillors.
