Thousands of people affected by the 2024 floods in Jigawa State have received emergency relief as part of a federal government program.
Over 10,000 flood victims across 18 local government areas are benefiting from palliatives distributed by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The relief effort, launched in Dutse by Governor Umar Namadi, provides essentials like food, clothing, mats, and children’s wear to those affected by the floods.
Authorities say this is part of a broader response to the disaster, with similar aid previously delivered to Miga, Dutse, Kiyawa, and Gwaram local government areas.
Governor Namadi thanked the federal government for its support and urged recipients to pray for continued efforts to improve their living conditions during Ramadan.
