An attack by suspected herders on a village, in Wukari local government area of Taraba state, has left no fewer than 25 people dead.The attackers invaded Jandeikyula, despite the presence of the Inspector General of Police who is on a three day visit to Taraba.
Locals told TVC News the armed militia numbered about 200 opened fire on the villagers without provocation.
Homes were set on fire, and the death toll could have been more, but for the intervention of soldiers on patrol around the area.
Taraba has witnessed sustained attacks in recent times, and scores have lost their lives in at least five local government areas.
