Nine persons were confirmed dead on Saturday while 12 others sustained various degrees of injuries in a separate accidents around Ijebu Ife axis on Sagamu – Ijebu -Ode – Benin expressway.
Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, Mr Clement Oladele, confirmed the incident in Abeokuta.
TVC News gathered that the first accident occurred at about 5:40am when the driver of a Toyota Picnic reversed on the highway for fear of being attacked by armed robbers. It didn’t end well as the car rammed into an oncoming truck.

The other crash happened after a commuter bus lost control due to over speeding and collided head on with a white tanker.
