The agency is equipping the country’s audit professionals with latest audit trends for improved accountability in financial reporting.
A collaboration between the United Kingdom’s department for International Development and the National Audit Office.
These UK agencies say Nigeria”s anti-corruption fight is the main motivation for this.
They express comfidence in government’s efforts and this audit training is their contribution to ending graft in the country.
Nigeria’s audit authorities committed to being more actively involved in the comity of supreme audit institutions several years ago.
It entered into various memoranda of understanding with international audit bodies to achieve this.
The acting auditor general believes the United Kingdom’s audit support is a dividend of Nigeria’s determination to excel in the audit process.
She is sure the lessons learnt will be of national relevance.
The Nigerian audit office, says this training support is in furtherance of the existing opening relationship the country has with the UK.
It believes it will enhance the existing ties between the two entities.
