The Nigerian Army has launched Operation Crocodile Smile lV in Ondo State, towards tackling various crimes in the state. At the launch of the exercise in Okitipupa, the General Officer Commanding, GOC of 2nd Division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Major-General Anthony Omozoje warned criminals to steer clear of the state.
Ayodeji Moradeyo reports Operation Crocodile Smile is a military exercise, designed to promote inter-agency and inter-service synergy among security agencies.
This explains the presence of different security agents at the flag off of this exercise in Ondo State, which is the fourth of such operation by the
Army.
Men of the Nigerian Army, Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Customs, Immigration, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and Correctional Services, were duly represented here.
At the launch of the exercise in Okitipupa, the General Officer Commanding, GOC of 2nd Division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Major-General Anthony Omozoje read the riot act to criminals.
The GOC, who was represented by Brigadier-General Thomas Ogunsugba, advised criminals to shun crimes and surrender illegally acquired weapons in their possession or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.
The Commander of 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Brigadier-General Zakari Abubakar, said the exercise will checkmate security challenges prevalent in
the southern part of the state.
Men of the Nigerian Army also used the opportunity to donate education materials to some students in the coastal communities.
Operation Crocodile Smile 1V will last from 8th of November to 23rd of December.
