Youths in Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, are demanding the re-awarding of oil pipeline reticulation project to local contractors.
They said existing situation where the contract is handled by workforce entirely brought from outside the community is displeasing.
Armed with placards with various inscriptions, they frowned at the termination of the oil pipeline reticulation contract, which they claimed
has rendered many of them jobless.
The protesters alleged that the new company handling the project, brought all its workforce from outside Ore community.
The aggrieved youths want the federal government to address the issue before it gets out of hand. They noted that since youths are not benefiting from the contract, it should be given to an Ore-based company.
Efforts to get government reaction to this was not successful as officials available told TVC News crew that they were not authorised to speak on the
matter.
