People living with Disabilities in Ondo State have called for the implementation of Disability Right Act. The persons who converged on the Ondo state sports complex in Akure, said the act when implemented will make life more convenient for them.
They want more support from the Government and creation of conducive Environmental where people with Disabilities can enjoy dignity and full
inclusion.
They also want more employment for people living with disabilities and public structures to be disability friendly.
Also, Centre for Citizens with Disabilities has made recommendations to the government to ensure that concrete steps are taken to enhance compliance with the provisions in the act prohibiting discrimination against persons with disability.
This was made at the public presentation of the report on assessment of INEC provisions for People with Disabilities in the 2019 general election in Lagos.
