The crisis rocking the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, has continued to fester with the emergence of two camps on the board of the Federation.
A group of eight members of the AFN say they have suspended the President of the Athletics Federation, Ibrahim Gusau.
They accuse Gusau of abuse of power, mismanagement and corruption
Rising from a meeting on Tuesday at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, the group of eight installed Olamide George as Acting President .
But a second group led by President Gusau has convened an emergency Congress of the Federation in Awka the capital of Anambra State.
Former President of the AFN and Chairman of Delta State Athletics, Solomon Ogba, recently resigned his membership of the board after accusing the Ministry of Sports of interference
