Jamaican model Toni-Ann Singh has been crowned Miss World 2019.
The event which took place on Saturday Dec. 14 in London, England saw Singh- 23, emerge victorious among more than 100 other hopefuls from around the world.
Singh had won the talent “fast track,” securing her an early slot in the pageant’s Top 40. The Jamaican beauty queen also flexed her singing skills during the finals night, singing “I Have Nothing.” by Whitney Houston.
Singh said the charity work done by winners of the beauty pageant was “the biggest part of the competition”.
The two runners-up for the crown were Ophély Mézino, Miss France and Suman Rao, Miss India.
Singh was crowned by last year’s winner, Vanessa Ponce de Leon of Mexico.
The new Miss World crown holder said that she plans to take her role as a global ambassador very seriously, despite knowing how difficult it will be.
This is the fourth time that a representative from Jamaica is crowned as Miss World since 1959. Jamaica has previously won Miss World titles in 1963, 1976 and 1993.
