The Nigerian Army has commenced an investigation into the attack on the residence of former President, Goodluck Jonathan, in Otuoke, Bayelsa State.
Spokesman for Operation Delta Safe, Jonah Unuakhalu, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
He explained that some gunmen attacked a military gunboat deployed close to the house while the soldiers were on duty.
According to him, the troops, repelled the attack while some of the assailants escaped with gunshot wounds. But one soldier was killed and another injured was evacuated to the hospital and is responding to treatment.
The attack on former President Jonathan’s house has been condemned by President Buhari, the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress.
