Russian Olympic Committee Chairman Stani-slav Pozyakov has supported the Russian Anti-Doping Agency’s RUSADA’ appeal against the World Anti-Doping Agency’s decision to bar Russia from major sporting events.
Pozyakov said Russian athletes who have clean doping records should be allowed to participate at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics under the country’s flag.
He also described WADA’s decision as an indicative measure that would not contribute to the reinstatement of RUSADA in any way.
The World Anti-Doping Agency, WADA imposed an outright ban on Russian colours and anthem from global sporting events, including the Olympics, for four years as punishment for provided WADA with manipulated laboratory data of doping samples.
