The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission is in support with the central bank of nigeria to stop the additional N50 charge currently imposed on transactions conducted through Point of Sales Terminal.
This is coming from the Chief Executive Officer, FCCPC, Babatunde Irukera.
Mister Irukera said its not right for businesses to pass a stamp duty cost of doing their business to consumers.
He said the commission in partnership with CBN and other relevant regulators and law enforcement authorities would enforce the law.
Consumers are advised to report any violations when it occur with evidence of such deductions.
