The Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, said the release of a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, and online publisher, Omoyele Sowore, was not due to pressure but on compassionate grounds.
According to a statement by the spokesman to the AGF, Umar Gwandu, the release shows government’s commitment to the rule of law and obedience to court orders.
He said both men had multiple options after the court ruling, either to appeal or review the order.
Sambo Dasuki spent more than four years in the custody of the Department of State Services, while Omoyele Sowore was held for almost five months.

Mr Malami stated that it was not due to any domestic or international pressure on the Federal Government.
