Wife of Ogun State Governor, Bamidele Abiodun, has encouraged mothers to stick to exclusive breast feeding for their babies in order to reduce avoidable child mortality in the state.
Mrs Abiodun made the call at the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital,Sagamu, where she welcomed and presented gifts to two first babies of the year in the state.
She was accompanied on the visit by wives of Ogun state government officials.
Similarly, wife of the Osun state governor, kafayat oyetola has called on parents to end the practice of female genital mutilation.
She stated this during her visit to the state Special hospital in Osogbo where she visited and welcomed the first babies of the year.
Mrs oyetola noted that there is no health benefits of female genital mutilation, rather a violation of human right of the girl child.
