President Muhammadu Buhari has met with the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson in London on the sidelines of the UK-Africa Investment Summit.
President Buhari briefed the British Prime Minister on the strides in agriculture and gains in different areas of the nation. He said they have led almost to self-sufficiency in rice and other grains, saving Nigeria billions in foreign exchange.
On the fight against insurgency, President Buhari said things are a lot better, with efforts being made to disabuse the minds of the people on the true philosophy of Boko Haram.
Though he admitted that the main challenge has been in resettling displaced persons in the northeast, noting that the situation is being tackled.
He further highlighted the successes in the anti-corruption war, asking for the cooperation of the National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom in investigating fugitives from Nigeria seeking accommodation in that country.
Prime Minister Johnson thanked President Buhari for being a regional leader who gives strong encouragement to the west, congratulating him on jobs being created through agriculture, and urging him to do more.
