Osun State Government has confirmed two cases of Lassa fever at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Ile-Ife and Westley Guild Hospital, Ilesa.
Addressing Journalists in Osogbo, the State Commissioner for Health, said the two persons are responding to treatment.
Rafiu Hammed reports that for the past few days, a lot of cases of Lassa fever outbreak have been reported in sixteen states of the Federation.
Although Osun has now joined with two cases reported, the State Government said proactive measures have been put in place to curtail its spread.
The commissioner said necessary drugs have been sent to the hospitals where the cases were reported.

Public places like mosques, churches and markets.
According to him, health care workers especially those at the primary health care centres have been adequately sensitized.
