United States government has pledged to support efforts by Nigerian government to combat corruption at all levels.
Washington also commends President Muhammadu Buhari’s personal commitment to the fight against corruption.
This was revealed in a statement after the signing of the deal between the U.S., the Bailiwick of Jersey, and Nigeria.
President Buhari also got the thumbs up for the return of more than three hundred and eight million dollars looted by General Sani Abacha.
In the 1990s, assets were stolen by the former military ruler and stashed abroad. More than twenty years later, they are now being returned to Nigeria.
The federal government says the recovered funds will be used for infrastructure projects in strategic economic zones across the country.
