Bola Tinubu conferred with Talk and Do Politician Title in Abuja

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been conferred with the title of Okaa Omee, the talk-and-do politician.

He was conferred with the title at the 2022 Nollywood New yam festival in Abuja.

TVC News’s Ola Awakan who covered the event described it as the celebration of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.

The gathering according to him used the commemoration of the 2022 Nollywood New Yam Festival to preach peace and unity in the country.

Different ethnic groups from the Country’s over 200 diverse groups are well represented and guests and attendees entertained with colourful cultural performances.

The gathering is also an avenue to recognise and honour those who have demonstrated the values of unity and peace through their activities.

The Presidential Candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who was represented by the Iyaloja General, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo was among the recipients of the award.

The Iyaloja General and another award recipient, APC female Presidential aspirant who stepped down for Asiwaju Tinubu said the recognition is a pointer to the fact that the APC Presidential flag-bearer is a unifier.

She added that the award will also help in spurring and re-energising him as the campaign for the 2023 Presidential; Election ramps up.

President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, explains the significance of the Award.

The roles of Nollywood ahead of the forthcoming Elections were also highlighted.

The new yam festival symbolises the conclusion of a harvest and the beginning of the next work cycle.

The Nigerian Movie Industry popularly known as Nollywood has been a major pressure group in the Country since the explosion of the Home Video market in the late 80’s to early 90’s.

Many prominent practitioners in the Industry have also achieved fame both within and outside their chosen vocation.

A prominent example is well regarded Actor Richard Mofe-Damijo popularly known as RMD who was a commissioner in Delta while others have also served in government positions including as head of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation.

The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress is a well known lover of the Arts who has also been a source of succour to many practitioners in the Industry aside the investment of the Lagos State Government in the Arts, Entertainment and Cultural Sector under his leadership as the governor, a trend that has continued with is successors and with him even outside government.
