A federal high court in Abuja has adjourned the arraignment of convener of Revolution Now protest, Omoyele Sowore to 13th of February.
The trial Judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, held that the Attorney General of the Federation took charge of the matter in December 2019, and it took the prosecutor 7 weeks to decide whether to amend the charges or not.
According to Justice Ojukwu, the prosecution has not served all the documents they intend to use to pursue the case to the defendant.
The posecution will now pay two hundred thousand naira to the defendant.
This will be the first time Mr Sowore will be appearing in court after his release from detention.
In court to show solidarity with Mr Sowore were Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, Senator Shehu Sani, Chidi Odinkalu and and Deji Adeyanju.
Speaking to TVC News, Sowore said he is not enjoying freedom as his movement is restricted to Abuja.
Chidi Odinkalu said the rule of law can be better as Senior Advocates who know the law are in the helms of Affairs in the country.
Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka declined comment on his appearance in court.
