The Nigerian Airforce said it is in the process of acquiring more platforms to boost its operations, that’s according to Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar.
He said the platforms to be acquired are the JF-17 Thunder and Super Tucano light attack aircraft
The JF-17 is due for arrival by November this year, while the A-29 Super Tucano are expected for induction into service by 2020.
In the meantime, two thousand and seventy nine airmen and women have been added to the force after six months of rigorous training. They resumed six months ago at the military training centre.
Their successful completion of the course is expected to greatly benefit Airforce operations.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar is confident they will substantially bridge the gap in manpower.
They are joining the force at a time the nation is battling several security challenges. But Chief of the Air Staff and others are satisfied with the training they’ve received.
The force is also acquiring more platforms for operations to complement the human capacity increase.
The new graduates were tasked to apply the gathered expertise on the field to ensure the nation’s enemies are defeated.
The airmen and women will be expected to be resilient, tough and courageous in the performance of their duties, at all times.
