President of the senate, Ahmed Lawan, has restated the stand of the national assembly to work with the federal government in finding solutions to the issue of insecurity.
He made the pledge in Katsina during a visit to commiserate with families affected by the recent attacks by bandits.
While in the state, he also witnessed the launch of an empowerment programme by another senator.
The killing of more than thirty people in Batsari local government area has continued to draw sympathy and prayers from all parts of the country.
Katsina state Governor, Aminu Bello Masari appealed to the national assembly to look into the issue of insecurity with more urgency in order to save lives and properties.
The Governor also warned beneficiaries of the empowerment package to desist from disposing them at a cheaper price.
The items distributed include 500 motorcycles, water pumps, bags of fertiliser, among others.
The senator representing Katsina south, Bello Mandiya explained that the initiative is to promote self employment among youths.
