Kaduna state House of Assembly has elected Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani as the new speakerfollowing the resignation of former speaker Aminu Shagali.
Mr Shagali’s resignation comes amid alleged plans by some members to impeach him.
The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Tanimu Musa however said the speaker “honourably tendered his resignation”.

Mr Musa added that the former speaker would continue his normal duties as a member of the assembly.
