Confederation of African Football has selected Nigeria’s Abel Baba as one of the assistant referees for next the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations slated for Gabon.
Baba is the only Nigerian arbiter among the 21 shortlisted to officiate as Assistant Referees at the 31st Africa Cup of Nations Gabon 2017.
Baba last featured as a referee in a continental competition as along with Peter Edibe at the 2015 CAF U-20 Championship in Senegal.
Nigeria will not be featuring at the tournament having failed to qualify for a second time running.

The tournament holds from the 14th January to 5th February 2017.
