The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar has advocated for more roles for traditional institutions in the nation’s bid to curtail the rising insecurity in the country.
The Sultan wants the old time tradition restored where traditional institutions played critical role in running the affairs of the nation.
He was speaking during his address to Yoruba Northern Traditional rulers that visited his palace in Sokoto.
Nigerians are becoming more agitated over the rising insecurity in the country.
The situation is giving rise to hues and cry from the South West as well as the South Eastern parts of the country as it is in the South South and North Central regions.
The military intervention over a decade ago, has consumed huge human and material resources as the war rages on.
But the military says, they are winning the war against terror and other insurrection in the country.
In a bid to compliment the effort of the security agencies in the country, the Sultan of Sokoto wants traditional rulers to be carried along.
The Sultan of Sokoto also admonished Nigerians to respect one another and make efforts to understand the diversity that exists among them.
Nigerians believe with sincerity of purpose, effective collaboration among the security agencies and the support of all citizens, the end to Nigeria security woes will come soon.
