The House of Representatives says it is determined to rescue the country from alleged annual revenue leakages of over thirty billion dollars, as a result of tax evasion and other sharp practices.
Hon. James Faleke (APC) while chairing the House Committee on Finance said his committee in the last five weeks has been investigating remittances by revenue generating agencies.
He said the aim is to rescue the country from a further plundering of its resources.
The lawmakers subsequently resolved to launch a probe into the allegation with a view to saving the nation huge funds that can be channeled into boosting the economy.
The house is to conduct a public hearing to among other things determine allocation of foreign exchange to companies for the repayment of principal foreign loans and interest that were in some cases found to be non existing.
