Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara has stated that for Nigeria and Nigerians to achieve success, proper attention must be given to constitutional review in order to perfect all the gray areas hindering the development of the country and her people.
Dogara stated this at the opening session of the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on the review of the 1999 Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the Speaker, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila said all hands must be on deck to ensure success of the review and amendment programme.
On his part, the governor Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun urged the lawmakers to take a look at the area of fiscal federalism and derivation formula, especially on non oil revenue generation, noting that Ogun state have been a victim of marginalisation despite its contribution to the nation’s revenue purse.
