The Inspector General of Police has assured Nigerians of Police willingness to partner Stakeholders’ in ensuring adequate security for lives and property and to reduce crimes in Ogun State and the country in general.
He made this known during the inauguration of an Ultra modern Police Station and Barracks at Simawa, Ogun State
The Inspector General of Police advised Citizens not to see security of their environment as the duty of the Police alone but part of their duties and support the Police with necessary information and other things that can make the society more secured.
The Inspector-General of Police who was represented by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 made this known during the inauguration of the ultra modern Police Station and Police Barracks at Simawa, Ogun State.
The IGP commended the donor of the project and urged the Police officers and the Community of Simawa to maintain the facility very well and ensure it does fall into disrepair.
For his part the National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee said the police station is one of the best in the country and commended the donor of the Station and those who facilitated the project.
He promised that the Police Community Relations Committee will continue to carry out programmes that will be beneficial to the Police and the country as a whole.
The event was attended by community leaders, leaders of PCRC in the South West and Ogun State, as well as senior Police officers in the State.
The donation of the Police Station will be an added boost to the Nigerian Police will serve as an added boost to the onerous task of securing the Country especially from the activities of Non-State actors who have crept all over the country in disguise.
This will also ensure that officers have a befitting office accommodation to operate from as it is observed in Other parts of the World.
