In his address, the president praised the Ukrainian military and assured that the country will continue to step by step to return its territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Invaders.
Many citizens of Kherson also gathered on the Central Square and the entire group performed the national anthem.
Kherson was eight months on the Russian occupation, now the Ukrainian flag flies again over the city where life is difficult but the relief is great. Important infrastructure has been destroyed, there is a lack of electricity, water and basic necessities. Telephone Connections are also questionable so the habitants have difficulty communicating both with other inhabitants and also
with the people outside the city.
While Ukrainians are celebrating the city’s Liberation, the toll of nearly nine months of occupation may be felt for years to come but for now at least there is celebration.
