In a bid to drive the pursuits to join the global communities to advance Digital Services and enhance quality Communications infrastructure for the benefits of the citizenry, the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC says efforts are being made by the commission to timely auction available Spectrum for 5G Services across the country.

Addressing journalists at a stakeholders consultative Forum on the draft information memorandum of the 3.5GHz Spectrum auction in Lagos, the Executive Vice chairman of the NCC Mr Umar Danbatta explained that there is need for industry players to understand
the genuine vision of the commission to equip the nation with the latest Technologies and services which is the focus of the efforts to deploy 5G Services Nationwide.
The Commission had sought active participation of stakeholders through deliberations towards the licensing of the available two lots in the 3.5GHz mid band spectrum for the rollout of 5G services in Nigeria.
The Commission has set the Reserve Price (RP) for one Lot of 100MHz TDD for a 10- year license tenure fixed at US$273,600,000.00 or its equivalent in naira at the prevailing Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) rates at the time of the auction.
